Your Flying Future

Fees and Financing

You have surely asked yourself what the pilot training at European Flight Academy costs and how you can finance it? Training to turn your dream job into reality is an investment in your own future. Through an attractive deferment plan and several funding opportunities, it is a dream you can more easily afford.

Lufthansa Group Supports You

FINANCIALLY ON YOUR SIDE

The Lufthansa Group is prepared to take on a majority of the cost of training. Trainees need only make a certain co-payment, which is slightly different depending on the desired training program. This co-payment can be financed via a deferment model.

Apply now, start training by the end of June 2019 and benefit from our one-time sign-on bonus of €20,000*! Please attend one of our info events or call our info hotline for further information.

Financing

Pre-financing available through the Lufthansa Group’s deferment model (see "Financing Options")

Three Options

Financing Options

Option 1
Option 2

You pay the complete fee up front prior to beginning training. In exchange, we will reduce the fee by 2.5%.

You opt for the Lufthansa Group’s deferment model and, in installments, deduct the fee from your wages at your future Lufthansa Group employer.

Repayment Once You Begin Your Career

THE DEFERRED PAYMENT

In the Lufthansa Group’s deferred payment, you do not need to pay the fees when you begin training, but rather pay once you successfully graduate and join a Lufthansa Group Airline – there it will be deducted from your monthly wages in instalments.

Training Agreement

You apply for pilot training at the European Flight Academy. After your training (plus type rating, in the case of MPL) is complete, you apply to an LH Group airline which is seeking for employment.

Deferment

Should you choose a deferment option, the European Flight Academy will let you defer the fee payment for the duration of your training.

Employment and Repayment

If you get accepted for a position at a Lufthansa Group airline once you have successfully completed your training, you begin paying back the fees in instalments. They will be deducted from your monthly wages.

Just in Case

Should you not receive a position within five years after your graduation, other arrangements for repaying the fee can be made in agreement with the European Flight Academy.

Q&A

Do you still have questions?

How long does pilot training take? How much does it cost? Do I need to be especially athletic? Here, you’ll find all the answers you are looking for on pilot training.

How can I pay for my living costs? Is it possible to have a job alongside the pilot training?

Our pilot training is designed to be a full-time activity. Successfully completing it depends on a high level of focus. We thus do not recommend taking on any additional employment during the training. Should you need assistance in covering the cost of living, it may be possible for you to apply for government assistance under the German BAföG program.
